Next week join newly installed President Dave Bell for a presentation on what our club has been doing and what it expects to do in the coming year.
This week Howard Dicke and Ralph Pipp met us at the door. The invocation was given by Kirk Wilson. The Club song was sung. Richard Saunders led us in “My Country ‘Tis of Thee.” Pledge. House Committee included John Skarda, Bob McBreen, and Max Link. Guests included several new member prospects: Debbie Burdick introduced interim Principal of CSHS Dr. Donna Lewis who has completed her application, Richard Saunders had a guest and Dave Bell had a table full of guests. George Schmid has returned from MN and Ed Jensen is back from MI.
Wellness Bob Leininger filled in for Lou Snodgrass since she was home with an ear infection. Bill Rintelmann is finished treatments and at home – he would enjoy cards at 35407 N. Palo Verde Way, Cave Creek, AZ 85331-9159 – no phone calls please. Blaine Keith came home today and would like calls at 595-5964 or cards to P.O.Box 3713, Carefree AZ 85377.

Candidates Forum – School Board, a public service announcement from Elaine Adrian that all candidates running for the CCUSD School Board will appear at a forum at the Fine Arts Center this Monday 10/6 at 6:30. PROGRAM
Hixson award. This prestigious award was presented to PP Ray Arnold for his many years of many services by PP Herb Hayde.
Hands Across The Border. New Lt. Governor Donna Yordy gave a presentation on this Kiwanis program now in its fifth year. Our Club and one of our Builders Clubs support this program. We donated $1,000 this year. Our contribution went to buy lunch for all who attended. During the day donations of clothes, shoes, toys are given out at the Kiwanis Club of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. A slide show helped make the information meaningful.
Installation of Officers. Donna Yordy inducted the following officers for the coming year: Treasurer = Bob Swan; Ass’t. Treasurer = Howard Dicke; Secretary = Gary Hayward; Ass’t. Secretary = Janie French; Immediate Past President = Brian Kunkel; Vice-president = Manny Gonzales; President-elect = Susan Vanik; President = Dave Bell.
Also installed were eight Directors: Elaine Adrian; Jim Bruce; Jim Walborn; Richard Saunders; Chuck Hoch; Lenny Brown; Bruce Lukowiak; and Kirk Wilson.
Thanks to retiring Directors Jim Blean, Joe DeVito, Bob Herrmann and Paula Scully.
Questionnaire. Newly inducted President Dave asked all present to complete a one-page questionnaire that rated a variety of attributes about our club and how well we are achieving them and how important are they. Come next week for the results.
