Program
Ralph Pipp introduced the speaker Tom Norris. Tom has been in the construction business for about 20 years. He has been working with “green houses” about eleven years. And he has promised his slide presentation by email to be included in this blog. A video of his presentation may also be available in this blog…so look around.
Tom says the question is not “what does it cost to go “green”? It should be “what will you save by going “green”?
Only a decade or so ago, builders were looking to save 10% of the energy bill. Now a “net zero energy usage” house has been built. With solar panels and efficient use of energy due to design, it makes enough energy to supply its needs in operation. This exists today using common building materials. Check the slides and/or video for more information.
Many thanks to Photographer Sherman Agins and Reporter Michael Moore for contributing to this issue of the Sundial.
